What could be more passionate than a heart painted with fire?
Using a groundbreaking technique, the paint is literally set alight on the canvas and the flames carefully sculpted to create this dramatic yet simple image.
The sooty deposits from the flame create all the shading, while the molten paint provides movement and depth, leaving the reds rich and vibrant.
The words 'I love you' are first painted across the entire canvas, leaving no doubt as to the sentiment behind the artwork.
The very nature of painting with fire means there is no other artwork like it.

Painting with fire is dangerous and unpredictable. That's why I enjoy using it as a creative process. Beeswax, oils and resins are mixed with oil paint and applied warm to the canvas then ignited.
The paint can burn from within a few inches of flame to almost a metre in height. I sculpt the flames and smoke using a compressed air gun, which finally extinguishes the fire.
The end result is a complex mix of wax and oils similar to encaustic painting. The fire and soot create all the deep tones and shading. The hot molten paint mixture gives the painting movement, depth and a richness of colour.

Each artwork is packed in a bespoke wooden crate to ensure it arrives with you in perfect condition. We only use national trackable couriers.
