This painting was created on location in bluebell woods outside my old studio in rural Northumberland.
This series was one of my first attempts at throwing paint to create an intense sense of movement. Additional layers of paint were then dripped onto the canvas to give an almost spectral sense of the trees.
I wanted to create the feeling of colour flowing through the woods. Seemingly spreading over everything it touched like a wave.
Part of my own collection, this painting is from a series of three painted amongst the bluebell woods in Hesleyside, Northumberland.
